The owners asked Corbel to assess possibilities for building a new ‘Permanent Agricultural Worker’s Dwelling’ near the existing farmstead so they can continue working and enable succession of the farmhouse to their son and his family.
To minimise its impact on the Grade II* farmstead, the new house has been carefully developed to reuse and repair a redundant cob stable with new build on the footprint of adjacent collapsed outbuildings. The resulting design has been carefully worked out to suit the client’s current and future needs and is currently being discussed with Local Authority Planners and Historic England.
