Chris leads all our activities: whether site and contracts manage ment, pre-construction, admin and in-house trades, or the very large supply chain.

His approach is to provide a collaborative team who know the full importance and respect the buildings we work upon, whilst developing modern management techniques to constantly improve the way we do things.

Starting out as a time served carpenter for Houghtons of York in the North of England, Chris worked on buildings such as Nostell Priory, Beningborough Hall, St Paul’s Cathedral, Blackwell House in the Lake District and many more.

Following his craft training Chris went on to learn management skills via a diploma in construction site management. These skills opened the door to a career move into site management for William Anelay Ltd where he spent ten years managing multiple award winning projects.

During this time Chris’s projects included, The Bowes Museum in County Durham a magnificent example of French Architecture set in the North of England, Myton Grange Stud farm a lasting example of a Victorian stud farm which was hugely significant in the war effort and Preston Hall winter gardens near Yarm an ornate winter garden built by Robert Ropner a shipping merchant, to showcase exotic flora from around the world.

Chris then re-located to Somerset where he has spent many years through every management level at Corbel Conservation.
